build the infastructure, jobs & business before housing. if you increase the numbers but give them nothing to do all you are doing is turning the area into potential ghettos. young men with no jobs mean gangs, drugs and violence.

No need for local population to expand. Most current expansion is immigration from outside UK - arbitary and unneeded.

Employment will be a problem, we may well have more part time jobs hence a new cheaper housing scheme, open market industrial units are often rented out at the highest rent going which means the occupant goes bankrupt after a short time then another comes in to do the same. Again the Community Land Trust scheme would build and sell at cost with the sell back plan.
