If building at the site of the Convent is factored into your equation we strongly object. In fact the housing target here is too large for the deprived and overcrowded area of St Leonards on Sea so we object anyway.

Need to recognise area 7 cannot accommodate any more - density already high and disproportionate to the rest of the town.

We already have enough properties, why make things worse before building more homes. We have enough deprivation and high density housing without the Council putting more stress on the area. Sort the low quality housing out before you consider building more.

Representation Summary:

The 390-550 more dwellings proposed is far too high. Firstly, the area comprises of large parts of the ward of C.S.L - already the most densely populated ward in E.Sussex - and Gensing which is also very densely populated. Also it is a beautiful historic area and cramming in the amount of new development implied by these figures will be seriously detrimental to its character and appearance. This will damage tourism and lead to an exodus of homeowners and skilled workers, and be adverse to the regeneration of this very deprived area!
