Representation Summary:

Once again there is little evidence of the council's intention to protect our woodlands and wildlife. Some sites included in the LD Plan will cause devastation of our ancient woodlands. So all these promises do not hold water....a vague and insincere attempt to reassure residents...

We hope that you will have an inititive to record veteran trees. Additionally, we hope that you will recognised that all ancient woodland is valuable and protect it. A wood of 100 year old oak trees is important because these are our ancien tees of the future. Your department never enforces any destruction of trees or any other wildlife especially when it is destroyed by a known developer. The police never act if you do not consider it a problem. All this means that what you say and what you actually do are different. It is a game to you.

As long as you give the policy some teeth, and protect the trees and woodlands from development. Do not let developers replace 'like for like' - it is never what it says, because a 5 year old tree is not the same as a veteran tree.
