Travellers should be accommodated into housing the town already has, please do not destroy any more beautiful areas to accomodate a minority look at towns like Cambridge.

This policy should be more proactive. A common theme running within the Hastings approach has always been to encourage sustainable mixed and well balanced communities. This should include, actively encouraging accommodation for gypsies and travellers.

The criteria against which proposals will be assessed are broadly aligned with the District Council's policy, which should ensure a consistent approach in relation to any sites on the urban edge.

The identification of the number of pitches to be provided for travelling communities, as opposed to specific sites, should be contained in the Core Strategy.

No provision should be made for Travelling people who pay no taxes - these people are travellers so why do they need sites.

With the travelling communities, proper sites should be placed in reasonable places, wiht the facilities laid on, bearing in mind these folk like to move around so linking up with other Councils should take place, some people don't like the travellers to be close by, let me say if you went out to find the 10 largest crooks in Britain you would find 9 of them living in large houses.
