There are enough language schools in the area already. The students mass for their own protection but in so doing cause congestion sometimes in the most awkward places, especially in the town centre.

The Council should specifically encourage further more mature and longer-stay language students who will add further significant value to the local economy.

Our Warrior Square Renaissance Project aims to create a state of the art
cultural and interpretation centre in the heart of St Leonards. This includes a special resource aimed at the local language schools and local schools (perhaps based on our unique historical 1066 legacy) This has the potential for exciting European Partnerships and phased European funding.

Chapter 3 seems to contain a mix of core policies that will help to drive the strategy & development management policies. To save the cost of preparing a separate DPD, we are open to the idea of including generic development control policies within the Core Strategy, provided they are kept separate from the core policies. However, it remains the main purpose of the strategy is to establish a delivery strategy for implementing a long term vision & objectives for the Borough. You will need to ensure that policies in the Managing Change section are key to its delivery, or whether they are more relevant elsewhere. We question whether this approach is needed in this part of the document or in fact the Core Strategy.
