Planning permission will not be granted unless:
The Italianate East Wing is retained.
The Victorian Society believe the East Wing is 'undoubtedly a heritage asset' and that 'This building has aesthetic value in its design and historical value as part of the development of the Convent. It is well constructed and its demolition would represent a significant loss of significance and be a waste of built resources.'
It also appears that the Italianate East Wing could be quite profitably converted(see p4-5 of Comments on Inspectors suggested rewording of Policy HN6 submitted by Rep2142).
