Representation Summary:
We recommend that a development management policy on flood risk. Flood risk may come from many sources and where new development is proposed in risk areas, following a sequential test, they should be accompanied by adequate site-specific assessments. Your Strategic Flood Risk Assessment and Surface Water Management Plan include recommendations for planning. Flood risk is also considered within your Sustainability Appraisal of the Core Strategy and includes a flood risk objective (10).
A flood risk policy should also be included to promote Sustainable Drainage Systems (SUDS) as a way of managing surface water and reducing flood risk from new development.
